Dahlonega explorations

Today was a big day, my daughter and I headed to Dahlonega for her University Of North Georgia visit.  She has already been accepted and will be graduating high school early (December 2019) and ready to start college at UNG in January 2020.  We wanted the opportunity to explore the campus.  I have visited Dahlonega before, but didn’t even notice the school nestled next to downtown.  The campus was beautiful with a view of the mountains in the distance.  UNG was founded in 1873 and is Georgia’s largest military college & one of six senior military colleges in the nation.
On the way to our tour, we took a pit stop at Monteluce Winery.  It is so beautiful there.  As we drove in 2 fawns were frolicking along the road as their mother tried rounding them up and getting them back in the woods.  It was such a precious site watching the momma and her babies interact.  We stopped for lunch at the restaurant and I had a wine flight and cheese board.  My daughter had the shrimp and grits.  The view from the patio seating area is beautiful and unless there is horrible weather, I would always recommend sitting outside on the patio.

For my wine flight, I tasted the 2017 Pinot Grigio, 2016 Seyval Blanc, Apple Wine, Raspberry Mead and 2017 Dolce.  I was not a fan of the Raspberry Mead as it has a strong flavor of honey and I am not a fan.

XOXO
