College Graduations X 3!!

So the last 9 days or so has been a whirlwind. It all started on 6 May 22 when we loaded up the car and headed to the AirBnB in Dahlonega. Baylee was up first to graduate on 7 May 22. We hosted breakfast for the family that was in town from Oklahoma and then took Blayne to the Cottage Winery for some wine tasting. I think I just might get him to eventually move to Georgia, as he fell in love with the quaint towns in North Georgia!

Cottage Winery is owned by a US Veteran and it has beautiful surroundings. It’s a must visit if you’re in Dahlonega. It is even more beautiful in the fall!! We sent a bottle of wine home for Michaela.

So after wine tasting we quickly got ready and headed to Baylee’s graduation. She graduated from University of North Georgia with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing as a RN. She graduated Cum Laude. Did I mention that she graduated early; by two years. She graduated before her two older brothers! She has a job lined up at Houston Medical Center in the ICU.

After graduation, there was of course all the celebratory photos and then on to her pinning ceremony. I pinned her, but when I quickly obliged to her request for me to pin her….never did she mention I too was going to be on stage! But we both survived it!

We didn’t get finished with the pinning until around 8pm; we were at the venue for about 6 hours. We were tired and hungry, but I had prepped food for the family, so we headed back to the AirBnB to start cooking. We had a nice celebration with her friends and our family.

Next up, on 11 May 22, Derick graduated from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering. He graduated Magna Cum Laude!! He has a job lined up on Robins AFB!

Last up to graduate was Blayne. We headed to the airport 13 May 22 to head to Oklahoma City. When we arrived we got the rental car and headed to our hotel, The Skirvin. The Skirvin is a beautiful historic hotel in downtown. For dinner we met up with our graduate and some family for dinner at Bricktown Brewery, one of my favorite spots to eat in OKC.

Blayne graduated on 14 May 22 with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from University of Oklahoma in Norman. His was definitely the quickest of the 3 ceremonies! By this time in the week, we were thankful for this ceremony was indoors and that it was relatively short compared too our first two graduations. Just forewarning…if you have three graduations in a week, you will be exhausted and so over anything ceremonial. Pray for patienceπŸ˜‚.

Afterwards we headed to a local German Restaurant, The Royal Bavarian for dinner. It was pretty tasty! I’m not a beer drinker, but the guys all loved the German beer. We all went our separate ways and then met back up for breakfast in OKC Sunday morning. We ate breakfast at a little cafe, Sunnyside Diner. It is a definite add to my must try food in OKC. We shared a cinnamon roll…just let me say, heavenly . For my breakfast I had chicken and a biscuit with hash browns. The biscuit had an entire chicken breast on it. It was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The best fried chicken I’ve ever tasted.

We ate breakfast and then we headed back to the airport to drop off the rental and burn some time before our flight. There was a cute little wine bar, Vino Volo, so we did some wine tasting before our flight.

We got home and the last little while just all seemed to blur together! But 3 down, 1 to go. We couldn’t be more proud of our three graduates!!

Until our next adventures!

XOXO
