Lens Artists Photo Challenge #223 – Flights of Fancy

Flights of Fancy to me is Defying Gravity by design. I will tell a little of my story of survival and how I defied all odds. Hopefully it inspires you and you enjoy my photos.

I have been diagnosed as having Bipolar Disorder Type 1. I was told I will never do great things again. I was told to give up and in fact I tried to give up in 2010, but defying all odds, I survived that horrendous night. I am a suicide attempt survivor.

I still struggle daily, but have chosen my health and life. I take medications, put my therapy in practice, exercise, eat right (now-a new endeavor) and have a great support system.

I have used photography, travel and hiking all to keep me alive and let me truly LIVE again!

You can read more of my story Here.

The host for this weeks challenge shared his entry at https://photobyjohnbo.wordpress.com/2022/10/29/lapc-223-flights-of-fancy/

To share how I defied all odds…here is a collection of some of my photos I have taken from some favorite trips and adventures.

I absolutely love to travel. This was taken in Sevilla, Spain at Alcazar Palace
One of my favorite sunrises at Driftwood Beach, Georgia
I love a great sunset! Sunset at Young’s Chapel Methodist Church in Georgia
I love exploring abandoned beauty
I love long exposure waterfalls and sunbursts!! This is Minnehaha Falls in Georgia.
From our hiking trip in Rocky Mountain National Park last month. I obviously did not take this photo! Just threw it in for good measure and to show one of the things that saved me!

I hope you enjoyed!

XOXO

Your images are spectacular. I was grabbed by your opening banner, but my favorite is that abandoned piano shot. I hope to see more of your challenge responses in the weeks to come.

I love the strength and wisdom you have to share your journey. It sounds like you have chosen the right focus to bring light to your life. Your photos are both meticulous, and most have a story. Like the piano, and the old house/barn. Very nice. .
