Hello, dear readers. It’s been a while, hasn’t it? To be precise, it’s been much too long since my last post. I would like to offer a sincere apology for the radio silence – life has had an uncanny way of playing out in a kaleidoscope of events, one blending into the other. However, I am finally here to update you on my journey. I assure you; it has been a whirlwind.
Exploring Puerto Rico, Columbus, Ohio, Indian Shores, Florida and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
In the past few months, I’ve had the opportunity to widen my horizons quite literally. From the shimmering shores of Puerto Rico to the dynamic cityscapes of Columbus, Ohio and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, I’ve been on a journey of exploration. and self-discovery.
Puerto Rico was beautiful as usual; we did get to explore some areas of the island that even my hubby had never been to. Remember he did grow up on the island, so he knows all the nooks and crannies! We road tripped around while enjoying the white-sand beaches, under the canopy of the Caribbean sun.
Next was Columbus, Ohio. What a stark contrast to the coastal landscapes of Puerto Rico! Ohio was a nice change of pace; I traveled there for my job. I drove about an hour away from my conference site and visited Hocking Hills State Park. It was beautiful, just like a story book. I also visited the Botanical Gardens in Columbus.
After Columbus, we traveled to Indian Shores Beach, Florida for a relaxing week in the sand and sun. We got to visit with my dad and brothers quite a bit and lazed around on the beach while avoiding Florida’s stormy weather. We did find a perfect pie for my dad’s birthday; if you are near Largo, you need to try the pie at The Pie Factory. For us it was beach, big city, beach and back to a big city.
Next up was Oklahoma City to watch my son’s girlfriend, Michaela of 7 years+ graduate with her Master’s in Speech Language Pathology! We couldn’t be more proud. I also got to spend Mother’s Day with my two kids, Michaela, and my hubby. We ate, drank and had a merry weekend together bowling, virtual golf, escape room (yes we escaped) and corn hole.
Diving Into Entrepreneurship: A New Business Venture
As if travel wasn’t enough, I decided to add a dash of entrepreneurship into the mix. I dove headfirst into starting a new business. While I won’t go into all the specifics just yet, I can tell you that it’s been an intense, thrilling, and equally challenging journey. It’s tested my resilience and creativity, but I am excited to see where this new path will lead. If you would like to visit my store or my blog; I would love for you all to watch my journey!
The Struggle is Real: Weight Loss Journey
I have to be honest; amidst the whirlwind of travel and business, my weight loss journey took a backseat. I must confess that the allure of Puerto Rican Mofongo, the irresistible goodies from Columbus, the pie from Florida, and all the celebratory food and drinks in Oklahoma did me no favors. The balance between savoring life and maintaining a healthy lifestyle is a delicate one. However, I am now recommitted to get back on track.
Back to the Grind: The Inca Trail Hike Looms
Now, with the Inca Trail Hike looming in September, I am buckling down and refocusing my energies. It’s time to dust off my hiking boots and get back into shape. The upcoming months rwill undoubtedly be grueling, but the thought of standing amidst the majestic ruins of Machu Picchu gives me the motivation I need.
All said and done, I’ve learned over this time that life is a wonderful mess of experiences – some planned, some unexpected. As I pen down these words, I am filled with gratitude for the journey so far and anticipation for what lies ahead. Join me as I recommit to my weight loss journey, embark on this new business venture, and continue to explore this vast, beautiful world.
Stay tuned for more updates, stories, and lessons from my journey. Remember, life isn’t about the destination; it’s about the journey itself. Here’s to embracing the adventures life throws our way, and here’s to us, navigating this world together.
Until next time!
XOXO
